Editing an 'Add Service' transaction fee rule for flights and bundled reservations

This topic explains how to edit an Add Service transaction fee rule for flights and bundled reservations, and is also included in the process of creating a new transaction fee rule.

Bundled reservations are reservations that include multiple standard services in the same PNR (the reservation of the services is made through the GDS, and they are all included in the same PNR). During the import process, if the PNR contains new services, which are opened as new transactions, a transaction fee is collected according to the services included in the PNR. If existing transactions are updated, no transaction fee is collected. For example: If a PNR includes an existing flight in the travel file, which is being updated, and a new hotel, the flight and hotel are not considered bundled. If there is no transaction fee for bundled reservations, a transaction fee is collected for each transaction separately (through a specific rule for that service type, or a general rule for adding transactions). With bundled reservations, the transaction fee is attached to the flight service. If there is a Flight with Hotel transaction fee, and the PNR includes a flight and two hotels, the transaction fee applies to both hotel transactions. If one of these transaction fees is selected, the Supplier and Destination fields, are initialized according to the flight. If the PNR includes a flight, hotel and car, but there is no Flight with Hotel & Car rule, the transaction fee applies to each service separately – even if there are Flight with Hotel, or Flight with Car transaction fees.

The Add Service transaction fee rule only applies to gross and standard services.

• How

If you are in the process of creating a new transaction fee rule, skip to step 3.

1. Search for the transaction fee rule that you want to edit.

2. Click the Edit icon in the row of the transaction fee rule you want to edit.

The transaction fee rule is displayed.



3. In the Parameters section, in the Event field, select Add Service.

4. In the Service Type field, select flight.

   OR,

   For bundled reservations, select flight with hotel, flight with car, or flight with hotel and car.

5. Define the transaction fee parameters.

Field	Description
From Date	The beginning of the transaction fee validity date range.
To Date	The end of the transaction fee validity date range.
Class name	The class name.
Number of legs	The number of legs in the flight.
Ticketing airline	The ticketing airline.
Source	The reservation system of the booking.
Destination	The destination. If a service type is selected, only destinations for that service will be displayed. This parameter is not relevant for flights.

More specific transaction fee rules override general transaction fee rules.

Click here for a detailed example. If you have an Add Service rule for 5 USD that applies to all services, and an Add Service rule for 10 USD that applies to hotel services, when adding a hotel service to the travel file the 10 USD transaction fee is charged.

6. In the Origin and/or Destination fields, define the origin and/or destination the rule applies to. These can be a Country, Region, or City.

You cannot create a rule for specific airports, only cities If you only select an Origin or only select a Destination, the rule applies to all destinations from the origin or all origins to the destination. For example, you can create a rule from LON to all destinations. The destination is the transaction destination, not the leg destination. For example: You have two Add Service transaction fees: From Israel to Europe: $50 From Israel to USA: $40 If you have a flight TLV-LON, LON-NYC, NYC-LON, LON-TLV With this flight the From Israel to USA transaction fee rule is used because New York is the flight destination and not London. You could also apply to this flight From Israel to New York and From Israel to North America rules.

7. If you want a tax invoice to be issued automatically when the transaction fee is added to a travel file, select Automatically issue tax invoice.

8. Click Save and Exit, or continue to select the transaction fee description.
