A region is a geographical area that comprises a number of destinations and/or cities. Regions can be used to group together destinations and cities that share a common attribute, such as the same price terms for a specific service.
Regions are used in car contracts, when the contract applies to multiple destinations in the same area. For example, If you have a car contract that applies to all the cities in the Greater Boston area, create a Greater Boston region and use it to group the Greater Boston cities together. When creating the car contract, in the Destination field, select Greater Boston and the contract will apply to all the Greater Boston cities.
Regions are also used with various business rules. For example, if you want to apply the same markup percentage to flights to and from cities in North America, you can group all these cities under the region North America, and create a markup business rule that is applied to flights that are traveling to and from cities in the North America region.
