Adding accommodations to a static package

This topic explains how to add accommodations to a static package, and is also included in the process of creating a new static package. Accommodations are a mandatory component of a static package, and can be either a hotel contract, or a package contract.

If there are three or more destinations in the static package, you can only add up to 36 hotels.

If you are in the process of creating a new static package, skip to step 4.

  1. Search for the static package you want to edit.

  2. Click the Edit icon in the row of the static package.

    The Details tab of the static package is displayed.

  3. Select the Services tab.

  4. Access the first Accommodation expander.

  5. In the Accommodation starts on day field, enter the day number of the static package for when the accommodation begins.

    The accommodation should not begin on day 1 if the outbound flight is longer than one day or if a pre-accommodation is included in the static package.
    However, the services need to start on the flight departure date, otherwise the package does not appear in the search results in the Reservations system.

  6. In the for the duration of field, enter the number of nights for the main accommodation.

  7. Click Click here to add a new item.

    8. The Product List page is displayed. On this page you can search for an accommodation.

    1. Enter the relevant search parameters for the accommodations, and click Find.

      2. Parameter

      Description

      Product Type

      Hotel or Package. This is a mandatory field.

      A package can only be added to a single destination static package.

      Destination

      The destination of the accommodation. This is a mandatory field.

      Supplier

      The supplier of the accommodation contract

      Name

      The contract name (usually the hotel name)

      Price Level

      The price level of the accommodation contract

      Category

      The category of the accommodation contract

      Contracts matching the search criteria are displayed in the results section.

      When the product type is Hotel:

      • Results  include both regular and package rates. If the hotel contract has a regular rate and a package rate for the same price level, only the package rate is included in the results. If there is no package rate defined in the system, the regular is used.

      • Only price levels for the market All and markets attached to the static package are included in the search results.

    2. Click the Plus icon + in the row of the required accommodation.

    3. If required, in the Time field, update the check in and check out times of the hotel.

    4. Click Done.

    5. Repeat steps b-d for each additional hotel additional hotel or package you want to add

    6. Click Close.

      7. The selections are entered into the Accommodation expander

  8. To allow the travel file to extend beyond the number of nights defined in the static package, select Additional nights permitted.

    9. This option is only active if a hotel is selected as the main accommodation.

    In a package with more than one destination, this option is relevant only for the final destination.

    If required, click the Delete icon to delete an existing accommodation.

  9. If the package has more than one destination, repeat steps 5 - 8 for each destination.

  10. Click Save and Exit,

    OR,

    Continue to add additional services to the static package (including pre-accommodations and post-accommodations),

    OR,

    Continue to add markup to the selling price of the static package.
