Setup - Product Definitions - Hotel Details

To access and perform actions in the module:

Assign the permit Update Setup Menus

This module is used to create a database of hotels from which reservations can be sold in the system.

The hotel details entered in this module can then be used in the following two modules:

  1. In Products - Contracts - [Hotel] when creating a new contract. The hotel entered in Setup - Product Definitions - Hotel Details can be selected in the contract's Name field, after which all the hotel details (entered in Setup - Product Definitions - Hotel Details) are displayed automatically in the contract.

  2. In Products - Online Hotel Display Rules when defining a hotel from an online supplier. When defining a hotel in Products - Online Hotel Display Rules, the hotel details entered in Setup - Product Definitions - Hotel Details can be used for displaying the hotel in the Reservation System (using the Local static content definitions option).

Note that both a hotel entered in Products - Contracts and a hotel added to a manual travel file will be added automatically to Setup - Product Definitions - Hotel Details.

When a hotel's details are updated in this module, they will also be updated automatically in all other modules in which the hotel exists.

To search for an existing hotel

  1. Go to Setup - Product Definitions - Hotel Detais.

  2. If required, use one or both of the following search parameters:

    Field

    Description

    Name

    Enter part (first letters) or all of the hotel name.

    Destination

    Select the destination of the hotel from the drop-down list.

  3. Click Find.

    Hotels matching the search criteria will be displayed in the results section.

To add a new hotel

  1. Go to Setup - Product Definitions - Hotel Details.

  2. Click Click here to add a new Hotel.

  3. Define the new hotel, beginning with the General expander, as described in Setup - Product Definitions - Hotel Details - New Item.

To edit an existing hotel

  1. Locate the hotel you want to edit as described above.

  2. Click the Edit icon in the row of the hotel.

  3. Edit the hotel as required.

To copy an existing hotel

  1. Locate the hotel you want to copy as described above.

  2. Click the Copy icon in the row of the hotel.

    A new hotel is created with the following name:

    [Name of original hotel] {duplicate number in current session}

  3. Edit the name and the details of the new hotel as described in Setup - Product Definitions - Hotel Details - New Item.

To delete an existing hotel

  1. Locate the hotel you want to delete as described above.

  2. Click the Delete icon in the row of the hotel.

    The following message is displayed:
