This tab is used to define the selling (self operation flights without the profit mechanism) or Buying (self operation flights with the Profit Mechanism) prices of the seats according to the classes existing in the self-operated flight. If you are working without the profit mechanism, the selling price of the flight is calculated in the business rules.
The price list created in this tab is relevant only for the flight defined in the Information tab - for a one way trip only.
To encourage round trip reservations, see Setup - Website Definitions - Content - Services - Flight (General expander) to implement an option which adds a penalty amount to the selling price when a reservation is made for only a one way flight (instead of round trip). |
The page is divided into two panes:
The Classes pane lists the different classes in which you bought seats.
In the Classes pane:
OWN indicates that the class is "owned" by your company.
TRANSFER indicates that the class is used only for internal purposes: self-operated tours or static packages.
Classes sold to a travel agent do not appear in this column as the selling prices for seats in these classes are determined by the travel agent and not by your company.
To copy a price list from one class to another, click on the arrow icon next to the Classes pane. It opens a drop down with the options Copy Price List and Paste Price List. |
The Price List pane contains the price list for the self operated flight.
The price list is in a table format. The left-most column is the Season column, and contains the seasons in the price list. The panes to the right are Market columns, and contain the market associated with the season.
It is recommended to first define the selling prices for all seasons of the flight before copying the flight in order to produce a series of flights. In this way, the copied flight will be automatically created with the selling prices of the season in which it falls.

This is relevant for organizations that undertake full commitment on seat control flights and manage the profit in the travel file.
For example: in organizations that determined the cost of the seat according to the total cost of the flight divided by the number of seats, in the event that not all seats have been sold, the actual cost per seat is higher. This option enables to update the actual cost per seat, while maintaining the ticket’s original selling price.
Access the Prices tab.
In the Classes column, select the class you want to edit.
Click Update Flight Cost. This enables you to update the actual cost per seat, while maintaining the ticket’s original selling price.
The Update Flight Cost popup will open. It contains the flight components attached to the flight class price list and this is where the actual cost per seat per class is updated in the price list currency.
Click Update.
The Update button will trigger a process whereby all services linked to this specific class will be updated with the net cost entered here. If vouchers have been issued for this flight, they will undergo an automatic amendment to reflect the correct price. In the event that the voucher has been paid, and cannot be updated, a notepad will be displayed reflecting all vouchers that were not updated. Once the update has taken place, it will be recorded in the flight Track Changes. Accessing the Update Flight Cost again will reflect that an update has taken place. |
