Business Rules - Passenger Travel Policy

To access and perform actions in the module: Assign the permit Perform actions in Passenger Travel Policy module

This module is used to define passenger travel limits. A passenger travel limit is a rule that defines limitations on the type of service booked for a passenger by a travel agent/corporate client. The passenger travel limit is defined according to various criteria including passenger name, passenger attribute, and service type.

The more specific a passenger travel limit is (i.e. includes more parameters), the more it will take precedence over less specific limits. This is on condition that the passenger's travel file parameters match the criteria for applying the passenger travel limit.

A passenger travel file can be created in the Reservation System only if it does not exceed the limits mandated by the passenger travel limit.

For Example: A passenger affected by a travel limit that does not allow the travel file of a business class flight will be able to book only an economy flight.

To search for an existing passenger travel limit

1. Go to Business Rules – Passenger Travel Policy.

2. In the Travel Agent/Corporate Client field, select the travel agent/corporate client from the drop-down list.

3. Select one of the following search parameters:

1. • Passenger Attribute and the name of the passenger attribute from the drop-down list or

   • Passenger Name and enter part (first letters) or all of the passenger's last name

4. If required, use one or more of the following search parameters:

5. Click Find.

   Passenger travel limits matching the search criteria are displayed in the results section.

To add a new passenger travel limit

1. Go to Business Rules – Passenger Travel Policy.

2. Click New Item.

   The New item page is displayed.

3. Define the passenger travel limit as described in Business Rules - Passenger Travel Policy - New Item.

To edit an existing passenger travel limit  

1. Locate the passenger travel limit to edit as described above.

2. Click in the row of the passenger travel limit.

3. Edit the details of the passenger travel limit as described in Business Rules - Passenger Travel Policy - New Item.

To copy an existing passenger travel limit

1. Locate the passenger travel limit to copy as described above.

2. In the row of the passenger travel limit, click the to the left of the relevant parameter and select Copy Item.

All the parameters to the left of the passenger travel limit are copied.

For Example: Clicking by the Travel Agent/Corporate Client parameter copies only the Travel Agent/Corporate Client to the new passenger travel limit. Clicking by the Service parameter copies the Service Type and all preceding parameters to the new passenger travel limit.

3. The New item page is initialized with the copied parameters.

4. Edit the details of the new passenger travel limit as described in Business Rules - Passenger Travel Policy - New Item.

To delete a passenger travel limit

1. Locate the passenger travel limit to delete as described above.

2. Click in the row of the passenger travel limit.

   The following message is displayed:



3. Click Yes to delete.
