Transfers are a leg service, and are used to move customers from one location to another - for example, from the airport to the hotel.
Transfers can be reserved for individual customers or groups, and are generally reserved in travel files that already contain a hotel and flight. Transfers can be sold through an internal contract or from an interface.
The transfer can be sold as a standalone service, or as part of a dynamic package. If the transfer is sold through a contract it can also be added to a static package, self operation tour or closed group.
You can use categories to distinguish between group transportation (per bus) and transfers for individuals – both private and public.
With transfers for both individuals and groups, you can use price components to distinguish between the different sized vehicles (for example, bus, mini bus, midi bus or sedan).
In the contract, you can define separate price components for evening hours, and define price components for extra hours. You also have the option of defining that the transfer always be displayed as confirmed if reserved a certain number of days before the service start date, under the assumption that the transfer is always going to be confirmed on time.
With transfers for individual customers the price is calculated per customer or per vehicle. With groups the price is calculated according the number of people in the group, and when creating a calculation sheet, the system knows to calculate the correct price for each group size option.
In the Reservations System, in the search results round trips are displayed separately from one way trips. After you select a transfer, you need to enter the transfer details. With flights and packages, the transfer information is initialized from the service. In all other cases, you need to enter this information manually.
Transfer reservations do not have to be reported immediately to the supplier. In the database definitions, you can define how far in advance of the service start date the reservation is sent to the supplier using the Report Reservation to Supplier module.
Transfer transactions can be tracked and managed using the Transfer report, which allows you to:
Generate a work plan for the transfer drivers
Generate a report of all the transfers and passengers departing for a specific supplier
Generate a report of all the transfers departing on specific dates and times
