Business Rules - Messaging Definitions

To access and perform actions in the module:

  1. Contact your project manager to activate the module

  2. Assign the permit Perform actions in Messaging Definitions module

The Messaging Definitions module is used for creating e-mail and text messages which can be sent to customers either automatically (e-mail and text messages) or manually from the travel file (text messages). You can create separate messages for each customer user interface language.

E-mail messages are sent using custom XSL files uploaded into the system.

The content of the text messages is defined in the module. To send text messages, you need to negotiate a commercial agreement with a mobile provider. The credentials received from the mobile provider are entered in the Website definitions.

The module is divided into two tabs:

Automatic messages can be defined for the following events:

Automatic messages are sent to all passengers in the travel file except for Receipt issued messages. Receipt issued messages are sent to the receipt beneficiary. The phone number used is the passengers Mobile Phone number. If there is no Mobile Phone, the message is sent to the Main Phone number.

Automatic messages are not sent for proposal travel files.

Users can send manual messages from the travel file, and when sending invoices, receipts and itineraries. The message content is initialized from the Messaging Definitions module and can be customized by the user.

The content of both automatic and manual messages can contain specific strings which are replaced with travel file data. For example, "Dear {First name} {Last name} becomes "Dear Allan Banks."

Each message sent through the module is saved as a communication record in the travel file. If attachments are included in the e-mail message sent, they are added to the communication record.
