A facility is a service, an enhancement, or equipment adding comfort, convenience, or enjoyment to a guest's stay at the hotel.

Two types of facilities can be defined in the system:

  1. A hotel facility that can be used by all hotel guests.

    Examples of hotel facilities: restaurant, concierge, laundry service

  2. A room facility that can be used by the guests occupying the hotel room.

    Examples of room facilities: air conditioning, hair dryer, mini bar

Facilities are associated with a hotel in Products - Contracts - [Name of Hotel] - Hotel tab.

In the Reservation System, hotel and/or room facilities are displayed after clicking Details in the hotel result.

There are 16 facilities that are hardcoded into the system that cannot be edited or deleted. A maximum of 128 facilities can be added to the local database.

To search for an existing facility

  1. Go to Setup - Product Definitions - Hotel - Facilities.

  2. In the Facility Name field, enter part (first letters) or all of the facility name.

  3. Click Find.

    Facilities matching the search criterion will be displayed in the results section.

To add a new facility

  1. Go to Setup - Product Definitions - Hotel - Facilities..

  2. Click Click here to add a new facility.

  3. In the Facility Name field, enter the facility name.

  4. In the Facility Type field, select the facility type (hotel or room) from the drop-down list.

  5. In the Display Order field, enter a number indicating this facility's order of display. The display order determines the order in which facilities are displayed in the drop-down list (throughout the system).

  6. Click to save the new facility or to revert.

To edit an existing facility

  1. Locate the facility you want to edit as described above.

  2. Click the facility name.

  3. The name is highlighted.

  4. Edit the facility details as required.

  5. Click to save or to revert.

To copy an existing facility

  1. Locate the facility you want to copy as described above.

  2. Click in the row of the facility name.

    A new facility is created with the following name:

    [Name of original facility] [duplicate number in current session]

  3. Edit the details of the new facility.

  4. Click to save or to revert.

To delete an existing facility

  1. Locate the facility you want to delete as described above.

  2. Click in the row of the facility name.

    The following message is displayed:
