Dan Hotels Web API

Dan Hotels is a hotel chain, and an online supplier offering hotels in Israel.

The Dan Hotels Web API is a newer version of this interface that allows you to select separate price levels per room.

Prerequisites

Before setting up the Dan Hotels interface in the system, you need to provide Dan Hotels with your IP address.

Dan Hotels needs to provide you with a:

• User name

• Password

• Customer ID

• URL

Setting Up the Interface

Setting up the Dan Hotels interface includes 2 stages:

1. Interface Configuration

2. Configuration of online hotel display rules

Interface Configuration

1. Go to Setup – Business Environment - Supplier Accounts - New Item.

2. Create a supplier account for Dan Hotels as described in Setup - Business Environment - Supplier Accounts - New Item.

Note the account currency should be USD.

3. In the Services expander of the supplier account, define hotel as a service.

4. The Income Type should be Comm VAT Exempt, and the amount is determined according to your commercial agreement with Dan.

5. Open the Online Supplier expander of the supplier account.

6. In the CRS Interface field, select DanWebAPI from the drop-down list.

7. Select the Active check box.

8. Click the link in the text: Click Here to update interface properties.

The configuration dialog box for Dan Hotels is displayed:



9. Enter the configuration details:

1. In the Base url field, enter the user name supplied to you by Dan.

2. In the User name field, enter the user name supplied to you by Dan.

3. In the Password field, enter the password supplied to you by Dan.

4. In the Customer ID field, enter the Customer ID supplier to you by Dan.

5. Mandatory. In the Select Default Country field, select a country.

6. If you want to request hotel prices in shekels from Dan in shekels, select Use local currency rates.

7. TBA Users only. Select Debug Flag to create XML files on the server.

8. Click Save.

10. Click Match Destinations.

Click here for more information on the Match Destinations process. This process can take several minutes to complete. The Match Destinations process works as follows: The process runs on all the destinations returned from the interface and saved in the system. When matching destinations: The following characters are ignored: dash (-), and apostrophe ('). For example, if Dan Hotels returns New-York and the destination saved in the system is New York, the process will ignore the dash and match the destinations. And vice-versus if the destination returned is New-York and the destination saved in the system is New York. The following words are ignored: island, isle, isla, district, prefecture, and area. The process is not case sensitive. For example if the interface returns Manhattan Island, and the destination saved in the system is Manhattan, the process will ignore the word Island and match the destinations. The process converts the words St and Sankt to Saint. For example, if  Dan Hotels returns St. Joseph and the destination saved in the system is Saint Joseph, the process confirms St to Saint and match the destinations.

A table is displayed, presenting the destination values in the local database with those in the supplier’s database.



A supplier destination value with a corresponding identical local destination value is automatically matched and the two values appear on the same row in the table. Rows with unmatched values appear at the beginning of the table, followed by the matched values.

11. Map the unmatched supplier destination values.

• Click by the supplier destination value to automatically add the supplier destination value to the local database and map the supplier value to the local value.

Use this action with caution as this action copies the supplier's destination value to your database and in some cases may result in duplicate values. For example: If your local database includes the value London and the supplier's database includes London, UK Then, the action copies London, UK to your database, after which both London and London, UK will be included in your database. It is recommended to consult your Account Manager prior to mapping the supplier destination values.

• To map manually:

1. Click   by the supplier destination value.

A drop-down list of local database destinations will be displayed. Select the relevant local database entry to match the supplier value.

2. Click to save the entry or to revert.

• To map the supplier destination value to more than one value in the local database:

1. Click  and select Multiple Mapping.

A multi-selection list which includes all the local destination values is displayed.

2. Click the destination values in the Not Selected list to map to the supplier destination value. These values will be displayed in the Selected list.

3. To save the mapping, click Save.

12. After completing the mapping process, click DanHotels.

13. Click Save on the main page.

Configuration of online hotel display rules

1. Go to Products - Online Hotel Display Rules.

2. Repeat steps 3-8 for each DanHotels hotel in your database mapped to a Dan hotel.

3. Click Click here to add a new item.

A New Item page opens for the online hotel display rule.



4. In the Hotel name field, enter the name of the Dan hotel.

5. In the Destination field, select the location of the hotel from the drop-down list.

6. In the Online Supplier field, select Dan Online.

7. Select Local Static Content Definitions.

8. Click Save and Exit.

2. The reserving supplier and the paying supplier are the same supplier.

3. There is no limit to the number of rooms in each reservation.

4. The maximum reservation length is 14 days.

5. An adult needs to be included in each reservation (but not in each room).

6. The market All has a BB board base only. Other markets might have additional board bases.

7. When reserving rooms with different boardbases, in the transaction, in the Hotel Details tab, the Boardbase is Mixed.

8. Supplements are not supported through the interface (special meals, baby cot, etc.).

9. There are no static files for the interface, and no need to import hotels to the database

10. The location search is not supported (city center, beach, etc.). The location search is available only when using the online hotel display rules.

11. The interface only displays the total price for queries - not the price breakdown.

12. When configuring the interface, the hotel & area codes Excel file need to be uploaded to the client's server. This is done by Galor. Contact your project manager at Galor for further support.

13. When adding or deleting a remark to an online transaction, a new reservation record with the same details is created, the remark is added or deleted, and the old transaction is cancelled.

14. The booking is done in two phases. The first query is sent to Dan Hotels to return the search results. The second query is sent before the Booking Details page is displayed to verify that the information is still current. The system will not allow customers to complete the booking, If any of the rooms are sold out or if the number of passengers in each room does not match the information returned from Dan Hotels.

15. The interface returns special offers (package rates). These rooms are displayed with the remark Special Offer in the Hotel Details and Travel File Details pages. If the interface returns both the standard rate and the special offer, in the search results the hotel is displayed once with the lower rate.

16. The interface returns derived packages.

17. The hotel prices returned from Dan Hotels are in USD.

18. There is an option to have Dan return prices in ILS. To enable this feature, configure the Dan Hotels Web API Local interface using the same settings used in the Dan Hotels Web API interface. To prevent a situation of duplicate hotels, use the online hotel display rules to choose which hotels should be displayed with an ILS price and which hotels should be displayed with a USD price.
